Merger of Charleston School of Law and College of Charleston Under Discussion

The private Charleston School of Law may merge with the public College of Charleston. Previous discussions entailed the sale of the law school to InfiLaw System, which owns three other for-profit law schools. The merger would need to be approved by the state legislature. Law school alumni have been vocal about their opposition of the sale to InfiLaw System.
