David Donnelly’s distinguished career in higher education spans three decades. He has served as Chief Academic Officer, Dean, Senior Administrator, and Professor at numerous private and public institutions. As CAO at The College of New Rochelle (CNR), he lead the development and implementation of a complex consolidation transaction with Mercy College and oversaw the smooth and successful transition of CNR students and faculty during the consolidation.
Before joining CNR, Donnelly held academic and senior administrative positions at Quinnipiac University, Chatham University, Sarah Lawrence College, and the University of Houston. He has an established reputation as an innovative and entrepreneurial educator and has written and spoken on the transformation of higher education.
He received a Ph.D. and Master’s in Communications from the University of Massachusetts and a BA in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Maryland. He earned professional certificates in Institutional Research and Assessment for Higher Ed from Baruch College, in Online Education from the University of Wisconsin, and a specialization in Futures Thinking from the Institute for the Future.
